So maybe you've been wondering where I've been, and then again, maybe you have lives. So here's the (compacted) drill:

Friday--Serenity. Really liked it; would see it again tonight, if that was an option. Since yet another fun day of moving money around and we've still got a week 'till Steve's paycheque comes in, though...unlikely. The wank on right now about whether Firefly fandom's own fannishness "kept" Serenity from rising higher than Number Two on opening weekend (a little-known film based on an almost UNknown, dead TV show, mind you, so please wrap your brains around that particular concept before talking) is fairly amusing, though. You can insert your own personal observations on the general impoliteness of deliberate mellow-harshing here, regardless of whether or not said mellow is derived from something you have No Fucking Interest In Whatsoever.

Saturday--Trying to get up to Sundbury, which proved harder than expected, for several different reasons. Most had to do with Steve's almost phobic dislike or having to talk to his Dad about/ask his Dad for anything, including--say--the car we needed to make the trip with. Not to mention how there was actually a teetering moment where he was all: "Oh, your Mom doesn't really need us to come up this week, right?", during which I had to restrain myself from slapping him in the face. The trip took five or so hours, we got there by 11:00 PM, and Cal slept during a lot of it, so he was BRIGHT AND SHINY until maybe 1:00 AM. All that.

Sunday--Romeo & Juliet, Sudbury Theatre Company stylee. A very good production, though I felt Juliet slid uncomfortably far into the realm of "look! I'm only 14, hee hee hee!" for the first couple of acts. Things began to improve around Tybalt's death, but she spent a whole lot of the build-up doing this whacky-looking, crinkle-eyed Sissy Spacek G*R*I*N which was, to put it mildly...very scary indeed. Great cast otherwise, though, and I include Mom in that assessment; her Nurse rode the thin line between ribald but human and the sort of too-damn-big cartoon many Nurses become. A lot of thought as to people's motivations, all of which showed onstage. I was very moved, by the final curtain-call.

Monday and Tuesday--Returned to find that the educational film I'd pitched will, indeed, be moving forward into outline/script stage. Had a few emails from that person I may or may not work with; probably not, unless he produces the proverbial cold hard cash ASAP. And speaking of which, finally got the cheque for my Midnight Movies piece, which proved both pleasant and (unfortunately) useful. No screaming complaints about marks as yet. Did lots of laundry, did yoga, wasn't able to do much of anything else. Last night I shopped for adult food at 11:00 PM, because Steve didn't get home until 8:00. Oh, and I haven't updated my materials or worked out since, of course.

And today the power went out for an hour and a half, while [livejournal.com profile] agincourtgirl was here--our usual appointment, reconsidered for this week as a "visit". Back on again now, obviously. And la la la.

Okay, I need to go wake Cal up now, take some Robaxicet, try vainly to salvage part of the evening. Ta.

Jesus. Because it's not like it was important to me that two of my best friends are going to have a baby, while two of my other friends just HAD a baby, or anything. Noooo. Not at all. Hardly worth mentioning.

I'd ask what was wrong with me, but believe me, I already know.
