The latest: I’ve got a cold so Cal has a cold, or maybe it’s the other way ‘round…a constant snivel for me, constipation, fever and screaminess for him. Annoyingly, this puts paid to my vague plans for showing up at the Toronto Film School’s annual film festival tonight, which I’d been planning as a defensive measure (yes, I’m still alive and yes, I’m coming back. Ooh, shiny awards!). But it does remind me it’s way past time for me to e-mail John and Rick re various issues, so that I can and will do.
I’ve also been making myself insane by surfing around, marveling at the sheer amount of world other people seem able to turn out regardless of technical problems, family, work and/or academia. I myself haven’t done shit since I started trascribing some notes on Monday; the fact that this is the Weekend of the Wall may have something to do with this, plus the fact that dealing with Cal is like managing a small, hilariously unhappy country. But it doesn’t make ME happy, even so.
I go back to work in July, and before then, I’d really like to get stuck in to any one of ten separate projects. Yes, I’ve managed to get myself back on track exercise-wise, and am enjoying the results—-down to 173 (from a starting weight of 210) at last count, arms, legs and even stomach getting visibly cut—but there has to be more to life. Even writing a damn fannishly-oriented FAQ about moi would be more, or inputting my interests into my profile (gangs of new york, power issues, ultraviolence & beethoven).
Aaaaanyway. I have to go take Cal out of the saucer, before he starts eating his hands.
