Heroes!

You know, I often feel like people crap on me for liking Heroes unabashedly. "This is a stupid show that wants us to think it's clever", blah blah blah...Well, here's the deal, cats and kittens: I love Heroes for its characters, all of them, even the frustrating ones. I really don't give too much of a shit for canon, mytharc or etcetera; what I like--and what it continues to deliver, for me--is emotional consistency. Relationships. Keep me hooked with those, and I'm happy. Tonight made me VERY happy, on many different levels.;)

Hero worship

I unabashedly love Heroes too--it was one of those shows that I instantly adored from the first few seconds of its pilot, I kid you not. Plus I am totally in love with Mohinder. Sigh. I've had books I've loved like that--Cherie Priest's Four and Twenty Blackbirds, Donna Tartt's The Little Friend (which I loved so much I couldn't bear to finish it and have it be over).

But I felt funny watching the season premiere this time--it had been so long since a new heroes episode, I felt as if an old boyfriend I'd been hysterically in love with who had left me, was back in town and wanted to get back together...leaving me feeling like I wanted to jump in with both feet, but nervous of possible future abandonment. Funny, huh?
